Tableau and Google Data Studio Assignment

This project is the application of skills that have been learned in a course. We were given datasets and instructions to follow. And here are the results:

Intermediate projects

Dataset: E-commerce

The dataset used is data from an e-commerce which consists of order dataset, customer dataset, payment dataset, order item dataset, product dataset, and product category dataset.

Instructions:

  1. Connect and combine/join the above datasets to Tableau.
  2. Create visualization of the following:
    • Number of orders per month
    • Number of orders per product category
    • Top 5 highest states based on number of customers
    • Number of customer per hierarchy state and city (using hierarchical field)
    • Number of orders per price group (using calculated field)
  3. Combine into one interactive dashboard:
    • The interactive dashboard must include flexible period and other filters, such as Customer state, Order status, Payment type, etc.

Advance projects

Dataset: AirBnB Listings Singapore Dataset

Instructions:

  1. Do EDA using Tableau and Google Data Studio by combining different variables to find the pattern.
  2. Create interactive visualization in a map based on location listings.
  3. Highlight interesting insight that you get

Dashboard: (Click here to view on Tableau Public.)

Dashboard: (Click here to view on Google Data Studio.)

Insight:

  1. 80% of Singapore's Airbnb listings are in the central region.
  2. 9 of the top 10 areas with the most AirBnB listings are in the Central Region, only the Bedok area (East Region) is not in the Central Region.
  3. Private rooms and entire homes/apartments are the most common room types on the list. With a listing rental price in the form of an entire home/apartment which is on average more expensive than the price of a private room.
  4. From all listings, 709 hosts have 1 property/room in the list and another 532 hosts have more than 1 property/room in the list. If AirBnB wants to increase the number of properties/rooms in its listing, then one way to do it is to try to invite hosts who have just registered one property to register other properties with Airbnb as well.
